Tailored transformation using modern marine-grade materials for comfort, durability, and style
After many years chartering a Princess V65, our client decided it was time to invest in their own vessel. They chose the stunning Princess F62, a yacht renowned for its comfort, performance, and style. However, despite the F62’s pedigree, the interior was being let down by one major issue: failing upholstery.
The helm and saloon areas suffered from discoloured fabrics, bubbling, glue leaching, and sticky finishes. What should have been a luxurious interior instead distracted from the overall ownership experience.
That’s where Aquamare Marine stepped in.
Our client wanted their yacht to feel as exceptional on the inside as it looked from the outside. After meeting to review options, we developed a tailored plan to:
Alongside this upholstery transformation, we also carried out a series of additional upgrades: installation of a passerelle, illuminated boat sign, new teak works, a custom flybridge table, watermaker installation and bathroom enhancements.
The Princess F62’s helm and saloon now reflect the true luxury of the yacht itself. The once-tired interior has been reborn as a sleek, comfortable, and resilient space, perfectly suited for years of ownership.
Our client was thrilled with the results, describing the difference as “night and day.”
At Aquamare Marine, we pride ourselves on going beyond factory standards, offering refits that not only restore but elevate your yacht.
The journey began with an in-depth consultation to align with the client’s vision for their newly acquired Princess F62. Our specialists met with the owner to understand their style preferences, functional needs, and long-term expectations. We presented a curated selection of modern, marine-grade fabrics, showcasing options that offered superior durability, comfort, and resistance to the harsh marine environment. By working closely with the client, we finalised a material and colour palette that would not only solve the existing upholstery issues but also elevate the entire interior aesthetic, creating a space that felt both luxurious and personal.
The Princess F62 was brought to our state-of-the-art Plymouth refit centre, a controlled environment designed for precision and quality. Upon arrival, our team conducted a comprehensive pre-condition survey, meticulously documenting the state of the helm, saloon, and surrounding areas. This crucial step established a clear baseline, ensuring every aspect of the project was accounted for and providing the owner with a transparent overview of the work to be undertaken. It also allowed us to plan for the additional upgrades, including the new passerelle, illuminated boat sign, and teak works.
Before any work commenced, our team implemented our signature full-protection protocol. Every surface—from delicate woodwork and navigation equipment to flooring and glass—was carefully covered to prevent any accidental damage. With the yacht fully protected, our craftsmen began the methodical process of stripping away the failing upholstery. This was done with immense care to preserve the integrity of the underlying structures, ensuring the yacht was left with a clean, perfectly prepped canvas ready for its transformation.
With the old materials removed, our master craftsmen began the precision reupholstery work. Every helm and saloon component was meticulously reupholstered using the advanced marine-grade fabrics selected by the client. This stage is defined by our commitment to exceeding factory standards. Every seam was perfectly aligned, every stitch was flawless, and every curve was finished with an expert eye for detail. The result was a set of components that were not only visually stunning but also built to last, far surpassing the original OEM quality in both finish and durability.
The final stage saw the transformed components carefully reinstalled into the Princess F62. As each piece was fitted, the new interior began to take shape, revealing a modern, refined, and impressively cohesive space. Our team worked diligently to ensure a perfect fit and finish, leaving no detail overlooked. Once the reinstallation was complete, the entire area underwent a professional detailing, leaving the helm and saloon pristine and ready to impress. The yacht was then handed back to the thrilled owner, its interior reborn and ready for years of proud ownership.
“We believe every refit should exceed the factory standard. Seeing a yacht reborn—equal parts comfort, durability, and style—is why our team loves these projects.”
